Message From the CEO

A Message from the CEO

Reflecting upon our past, I am energized by the altruistic work of the organizations that The William K. Warren Foundation (“Foundation”) supports, while also being humbled by the vast, unmet needs of those who require help. Since inception, the Foundation has donated over $736 million to worthy charitable organizations. At the same time, the Foundation has pursued good stewardship by substantially growing the corpus of funds that will support future generations in the evergreen way that my grandfather and grandmother intended. The challenge of helping people today and well into the future is one The William K. Warren Foundation enthusiastically accepts.

While the Foundation is directly helping needy people through supported organizations, advocating for excellence in health care services and empowering individuals to help themselves through education and wellness, we also believe we are making a difference for all of mankind by making substantial contributions to medical research. It is our hope that actively supporting meaningful research will translate into less suffering for those who have no voice. This research requires much patience as results unfold over decades. This research will require working with committed scientists, organizations and others, who dedicate their entire lives as they incrementally advance knowledge about diseases that affect our society.

The gift my grandparents gave to The William K. Warren Foundation and the continued support of my family, especially that of my father who served as CEO before me, came out of thanksgiving for the blessings that they received. As the Foundation looks toward the future, we will dedicate ourselves to meeting the urgent needs of today while anticipating the unmet needs of the next generations. We are especially grateful to all of those at the supported organizations who reflect my grandparents’ and family’s thanksgiving and are faithfully devoted to those who are suffering and in need. Thank you for the courage, excellence, and solidarity that you embody as you serve others.

Sincerely,

John-Kelly C. Warren
